Growler from Milk and Hops, Chelsea. Unclear golden pour with a thin head and light lace. Bread / dough, pale malt, grass, and spice. Clean, decently bitter close. Refreshing and quite drinkable, but didn’t quite get to the crispness level of the best examples of this style. Still, there’s a lot of flavor development and it is really drinkable. Pretty solid stuff.

Sampled at the brewery, pours a clear, dark gold with a ring of white head. Nose has grist, yeast, lemon, a little green hop. Flavor has malt, mild honey, mild peanut skin, lemon, straw. Finishes dry and crisp.

Covenhoven, Brooklyn can: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is lightly grass and some straw. Taste is clean and simple pilsener with a nice hoppy tinge and lightly sweet maltiness. Fine but unexciting.

LSAT Freedom Trip #139. Keg at the brewery. Hazy golden, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of biscuit malts and noble hops. The taste is bready malt, grains, grassy and noble hops. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, well balanced.

Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Nice golden amber color, thin lasting head. Aroma is Saaz grassy goodness with some citrus. Fresh aroma!
Great balance of sweet grain, Saaz hops and a light herbal touch. Mouthfeel is light and crisp, finish is clean. Really great and finely crafted example of the style.

Draught @ Coopers Craft Kitchen Chelsea. Clear rich yellow with large foamy off-white head, very little malt aroma, high carbonation, crisp malt taste, medium dry finish. Nice pilsner.
