Ok, I am at least keeping the bottle for the rating. This is not a company I am particularly fond but I decided to try this one none the less. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a large tan head. The aroma was rather faint but had elements of sweet caramel and molasses. The flavor was bitter, and fruity at first followed by a sweet caramel, molasses and ripe fruit element. and finishing with a dry and somewhat bitter roasty chocolate. Fairly complex and interesting though I found that I enjoyed the beer less and less with each sip.

Bomber - this beer looks, smells, AND tastes a lot like their barleywine, with less body, higher bitterness, and far less complexity - roasted grain aroma, with some syrupy hints and a slight, cough medicine-like smell in the back - thin and almost watery on the palate - a touch of cherries and wood - tea-like finish - somewhat bland, but drinkable.

Ruddy reddish-brown body, thin off-white head. Aroma of burnt sweet caramel, candy corn, and red licorice. Surprisingly light, cerealy body, with burnt caramels, brown sugar, toast, a touch of candy corn, and grassy hops defining the palate. Becomes a bit medicinal or tea-like after a few sips. Light palate, surprisingly light alcohol. Lacks substance.
