Keg at Rockaway, Long Island City, 12/04/23. Light black with a faded tan cap. Nose is dried fruit esters, raisins, charr, dark malts. Taste comprises cocoa powder, dark malts, charr, ashen tones, dried fruit esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid for the style.

Tap at the brewery taproom long island. A dark mahogany brown coloured pour with beige head. Aroma is semi sweet nutty roast, hazelnut, earthy, toasted earth. Waxy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, oily, nutty roast, earth, light coffee bean, grass. Palate is semi sweet oily, moderate carbonation. Decent. Light tang.

On tap at the Jeffrey in NYC. Opaque black pour. Thick, creamy tan head is finger high. Roasted malt aroma. Flavor is roasted malt, unsweetened dark chocolate and charred wood. Rich and creamy. Subtle complexity. Think Guinness draft with a lot more hops. Delicious!

Draught @ Rockaway brewing, LIC, New York, as Nitro Black Gold. Pours black with a creamy brown head. Aorma of roasted malt, light coffee, toasted bread, dark chocolate. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roast malt, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa. Thin to medium body, average carbonation, dry light bitter finish. 260418

From tap. Pours pitch black with a creamy tan head. Roastedalty. Chocolate. Dark roasted malty. Dry and roasted and dense malty. Bitter and dry solid dark malty. Bitter and dark malty finish.

[2/8/17] Draught at Rockaway Brewing in New York City. Black, creamy tan head. Roast, coffee, chocolate, rather dry, bitterish finish. Nice.

On nitro at the brewery. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa and roast. Thin mouth, cocoa, cracker, light roast, good.
