Narwhal Imperial Stout is inspired by the mysterious creature that thrives in the deepest fathoms of the frigid Arctic Ocean. Rich with notes of espresso, baker’s cocoa, roasted grain and a light hint of smoke, Narwhal brims with malt complexity. Aggressive but refined with a velvety smooth body and decadent finish, Narwhal will age in the bottle for years to come.

Bottle. Black with a good beige head. Aroma of dark fruits and dark chocolate. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and brown sugar. Moderate to strong bitterness. Medium carbonation. It’s very balanced and good but l‘m still somewhat underwhelmed.

Bottle at Captain Cook, Östersund. One of those beers that starts off underwhelming but graduates into the sublime with percentage. Hits all the notes you'd expect from a good imperial Stout. Great colour. Nothing outstanding though.

Bottle at home. Three year old. Has a dark brown to black colour with a small beige head that fades fast. Aroma of chocolate truffles, coffee, soy sauce, licorice, chocolate biscuits and roasted malt. Flavour of dark chocolate, ash, licorice, rye bread and roasted malt. Warming alcohol in the end. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a soft bitterness. Decent IS but a little careful though.

Black with thin head. Aroma of rock candy, weird red fruit sugary thing going on. Behind that some cacao and dark chocolate. Gets more roasty after a while. Flavour has a pleasant dry roasted malt bitterness. Sweeter elements linger in the background. Touch of liquorice too. Good, not great by modern 'big stout' standards though.

Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, chocolate, light coffee notes, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty roasty bitter finish. Good.
