A blend of 6X and Pussers Rum.

We salute 100 years of naval aviation dedicated to the unswerving courage of the crews of the Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers, which were launched from aircraft carriers during the Second World War to attack the enemy battle cruisers Bismark, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, risking their lives against impossible odds.

Bottle from my mate Wiggy. Deep amber pour with a white head. Very sweet aromas of molasses, citrus and bubblegum. Very sweet taste. Banana, brown sugar and a little light citrus. Malty, dry finish. Unusual.

500ml bottle. Pours amber with a medium frothy head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and mollasses, seems slightly artificial. Sweet mollasses start. Lots of caramel on the finish with hints of rum.

Bottle. A clear, amber beer with a small, beige head. Bready, toffee nose with dried fruits, some fresh fruits. Some spiced, peppery notes. Coriander seeds? Medium body, a bit flat and dead. Slightly bready flavor, toffee and a buttery touch. A spiced bitterness chimes in towards the end, but it can’t prevent it from being a bit dull and uninteresting. Drinks easily. 101008

50cl bottle from M&S Camberley. Pours copper coloured with an off-white head; aroma of cane sugar and perhaps a touch of rum; rich, raw, sugary taste, almost bitter with molasses; and a heavy malty finish. This doesn’t really work for me.

Bottled. An amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, and caramel, as well as lighter notes of bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, elderflowers, and bread, leading to a dry and lightly metallic finish.
