Brunch lines are as much an institution as brunch itself in Portland, so we made a beer dedicated to the rain-soaked hordes of brunch-goers who patiently stand in line for their weekend fare. Inspired by the mimosa cocktail, Brunch Line features sour wheat and blond ales aged in white wine barrels for up to two years with Willamette Valley-grown Chardonnay grapes, then infused with fresh orange zest.

500ml bottle, 2017 vintage. White grape aroma with notes of wheat malt, orange, barnyard, funk, vanilla, white wine and oak. Pours brilliantly clear golden colored with a thin white head that has some retention and good lacing. Starts with white grape, barnyard, wheat malt and vanilla flavors as well as having a lively mouthfeel. Finishes bone dry and zippy with orange citrus, funk, vinous white wine and oak flavors. Very nice sour even going on 8 years old.

Bottle from the lcbo. Murky yellowish orange pour, with a medium white head. Aroma is wet hay, loads of citrus zest, earthy wood, barrel, and loads of funk, great example of the "barnyard aroma". Lovely mouth feel, lively carb. Very sour finish, dry, and crisp. Loads more funk and barnyard flavours, wet hay, hints of stone fruit, apricot, and orange marmalade.

2017 vintage. 500 ml bottle. Pours amber with light fizzy head that settles quickly. Aromas of farmhouse, earthy wheat, dull citrus, and musty sour grapes. Flavors follow same but with more sour white grapes. Quite a sour kick.

500 c&c from Hi-Time. Pours slightly translucent, slightly orange gold with a large foamy white head. Aroma is orange zest, but white grape is present. Med minus body. Flavor is tart - almost sweet tart - but then orange zest kicks in and tart it is. Quite smooth. Light notes of not very musty oak. Dry. Tart for sure, but seems bitter as well - perhaps the zest. Fairly pleasant drinker.
