Very popular. A complex hopping method where each hop addition is double the previous amount. More hops in the hopback and then two dry-hop sessions. The second dry-hop session is with whole hops and oak chips. 1.093 OG 10.75%ABV

Bottle shared thanks to iphonephan. Pours clear golden with tan head. Aroma of citrus, orange peel pine, resin, caramel malt. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Excellent!

Finally got my claws in this one with huge thanks to jhogan4! Pours hazy golden amber with a medium creamy beige head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light, surprisingly so given the freshness of the beer. Notes of citrus, grapefruit, passionfruit, cat piss and pine are present. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and lightly bitter, with the bitterness coming on a bit in the finish, but still amazingly subdued. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, No trace of heat. This beer is really interesting - it honestly drinks like a hoppy pale ale other than the oily mouthfeel. No trace of booze and, while its obviouly loaded with hops everything is so smooth that it slips down without really being noticed. I can’t call this a great beer, but I certainly admire the craftsmanship.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Aroma of spruce. Flavors of pine resin, with hints of grapefruit zest and a bit of caramel sweetness. Nice.

Tap @ the Inaugural Boulder IPA Fest. Pours a clear orange appearance with a cream colored head. Herbal, orange citrusy, lightly woody, dull hoppy aroma. Creamy, dull herbal, toasty malty, dull dank, lightly piney, somewhat spicy flavor. This tasted pretty old which was such a disappointment, as I was looking forward more to this than any other IPA at the fest.

Bomber courtesy of thome50 during Free Beer Week 2012. Thanks! Pours a clear golden-amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Sticky hop aroma with resin, tropical, candied citrus notes along with caramel malts, wood and a faint bit of sawdust. The taste is intensely bitter hops... grapefruit, melon, tropical notes, lemon, toffee malts, peppery wood notes, vanilla. Medium-full bodied. Just the slightest hint of the alcohol. It’s hop juice... just as I expect from Alpine, but it does have enough malt to balance. Nice beer.

The aroma was overpowering with sweet malty notes. It almost smelled like a bucket of paint it was so overdone! Flavor is similarly complex, with an opening salvo of malt sweetness, undercut by very bitter citrus notes and piney hop bite. Pours a hazy golden yellow with mid-sized head. Very strong alcohol content really catches up with you, even as you sip this. According to the bottle, this is really a triple IPA, not simply a double, and I’d believe it.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma has truckloads upon truckloads of resinous hops, tons of caramel malt to back, quite a bit of tropical fruits, and some subtle oak chips. Flavour of intense tropical fruits and resinous hops, with lots of sweet caramel malts to back. More malt than Pure Hoppiness it seems, also more bitter. More intense, though probably on the same level of enjoyability as PH - would love to try this fresher. Awesome IIPA.
