Once we pick fresh hops, the clock starts ticking. Each year, we visit the Pacific Northwest to hand-select the best Cascade and Centennial hops, race the harvest home, and brew immediately to capture citrus, pine, and floral notes at their absolute peak — aromas and flavors for the perfect winter beer. It’s a magical time at the brewery — has been for 40 years now! — when our brewers huddle around the fermentation tanks, toasting the start of a special season with a holiday beer in hand. Draught. Dark amber. Bitter, lots of crystal malt, good balance, woody and earthy.

Copper, hugely hoppy nose - rich, earthy piney, resiny aromas; very bitter. Classic IPA. Torpedo Ale (#2) on draft at the Taphouse, Seattle. Golden-bronze colour. Fairly light cascadey old school aroma. Good body. Spicy, minty, woody flavours. Lots of minerals, earthy malts. Great balance and easy drinking, too. Aroma score is a 6, all other scores the same. 2019 Edition. It has been a while since I've reviewed this, so why not do it. Dark amber and bright, with a pretty big head. Toasty malts blend with grapefruit and piney hops. Quite bitter, especially by today's standards. Well-made, easy to see why this became a classic.

Can at Malmö Crew Christmas tasting at Palace Hall (17/12/2022) - toasted and sweet malty, notes of caramel and toffee, citrus fruity accents, medium body, bitter hoppy finish.

Trüb bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, hopfiger, eher leicht fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich betont bitter malzig mit Citrus, Grapefruit und Anklängen an Karamell. Mittlere Süße mit hoher Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
