Women’s Euro beers 10/16 - Sweden 🇸🇪 Roasted malts dominate this one. A little sweet in the body, definitively bitter finish. A little Smokey.

Veckans cask. Good stuff, plenty of very nice malt character, but the lingering bitterness in the finish gets a hint harsh.

Cask, Bishop Gustav, Malmö. Klassisk engelsk ale med fina maltiga smaker av rostade ntter, fudge, karamell, mörkt bröd utan att det blir för sött. Lättdrucken och kan säkert upplevas som tunn men så välbalanserad med fina smaker. Mycket trevlig.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Oct 2017) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dark fruit and a touch of orange peel. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark fruit, apricots, orange peel and a mild citric bitterness. Medium body, with a light sweetness. Tasty and well made mild. Nice one. (Rerate: Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 11 Nov 2018) Ruby red colour with dense, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, red fruit, some chocolate and toast. Malty taste with notes of caramel, toast, chocolate, dark fruit and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Nice one. (Same numbers)

From cask. Pours dark mber, hazzlenut brown. Small tan head. Aroma is toasted. Breadish and toffee. Slight herbal. Dry, roasted. Bitter and herbal. Dry and herbal finish.

Cask@Bishops Arms Gustav, Malmo - Dark brown pour with beige head. Sweet and toasted malty with cocoa and caramel, some dark dried fruit, medium body, malty close.

330ml Bottle - Brown with orange tinges. Blackcurrant, chocolate and nuts in the aroma. Berries, blackcurrant, chocolate and raisins all feature in the taste. A tasty and enjoyable mild.
