Heavy Fuel Barley Wine was brewed just before Christmas 2016 and has been maturing until this very day! Barley wine is a type of strong ale. We wanted to create a classic British barley wine with huge amounts of barley malt and East Kent Golding hops. We succumbed to the temptation to add cornflakes and frosted flakes during the process. Like a fine red wine, a barley wine can be stored for several years. It should be kept in a cool and dark place. Then serve our Heavy Fuel Barley Wine at room temperature. In peace. In your favorite chair. In front of a fire. Alone or with a good friend. See. Smell. Consider life for a while.
Our Heavy Fuel barley wine is to be enjoyed in a contemplative state… how intriguing.

Bottle from SB. Pours clear, dark amber, with no head. Strong caramel and fudge presence, some pine, earth and grass. Warming with dried fruit. A bit boozy finish. Decent.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy copper colour, miniscule head. Peppery caramel aroma. Sweet with full to massive body and dense, well rounded mouthfeel. Spicy pears, bread and caramel, topped with calvados. Peppery warming finish. Complex and packed, really harmonious.

Sample at SBWF 2017. Hazy dark golden with a small white head. Sweetish aroma of dried fruit, malt, caramel and something that reminded of licorice. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol. The best beer to date from Fjäderholmarnas.
