On tap at CBC2012. Beer in tbe glass deep black, small head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts mild-malty, almost a bit washy. Gets drier and drier and more snd more intense malty. Finish dry-malty, some hints of chocolate. Good, but I had better Mikkeller beers.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. A cute one, next to black, and topped by a small, tan head. The aroma has loads of tea, too much I think, ruining the goodness of the base beer. The flavor has the same problem, the tea is running the show, more or less preventing the base beer’s roasted malts and coffee from stepping forward. Some notes of paint thinner, which I suspect is due to the tea. Full body, dry and with a pleasant level of carbonation. Lasting finish, again with tea doing most of the job. Just not my cup of tea. 120511

Draught @ [ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012 ] @ Spartas Lokaler, Faelledparken in Osterbro, Copenhagen, Denmark.Clear dark brown colour with a small average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, english tea, cold bitter Earl Grey tea. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, again just english tea - bitter tea. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20120511]

At Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Black with a small tan head. The aroma has lots of tea, some roasted notes and a touch of smoke. Sweet and intensely tannic flavour of cold tea, with a touch of lapsang souchon smoke, a spicy hint and some alcohol.

Draft at CBC. Pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, tea and smoke. Major tea in the flavour overwhelming other aspects. Interesting experiment but wouldn’t go back for a second.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma is totally dominated by English tea. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, tea, and coffee, leading to a bitter tea like finish. Interesting attempt, but not to my liking.
