Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate, but the blueberries are definitely the dominant flavour. Flavour is roasty malty, blueberry, a little sweetness. Very refreshing. I loved the way blueberry was included in the flavour.

Notes from October 2009 I've been gifted this beer a few times over the past couple of years, & it's never failed. Pop of the cap released a relaxing scent of blueberry muffin mix. Smells a little sweeter then they naturally should be, but I haven't even gotten around to pouring it out yet. It pours out a rich velvet black. Inch of cookie dough-colored head. It actually looks like a Chewy Chips Ahoy is just sitting there in my pint glass. I'm left with a pretty sludgy empty bottle. Smell is of fudge, cooked blueberries, & lots of sweet unfermentables, giving the berries more of a dipped, artificial scent. The blueberries are much more subtle in flavor, still coming off buttered & baked(can't really be helped unless you'd rather just have the finished beer sit on the berries), & simply lacing the base stout. The beer has a bigger then average roast, but smooths the edges out with some lactose(almost tastes like yogurt). Sharp malt sweetness & a creamy microbeaded feel. Endgame is coffee/tobacco & toasty grain. It drinks like a much, much bigger beer. One of my favorite fruit stouts.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours pitch black with a medium dark brown head. Aroma has a ton of slightly artificial blueberry. Errr. Licorice, chocolate, light roasted malts, tobacco. Blueberries just don’t work on stouts... Taste is chocolatey, licorice, blueberry, sweet, roasty, tobacco, malty.

Bottle at home bought from Cask Pub and Kitchen. Dark chocolate brown colour, with small golden head. Aroma is blueberries, chocolate, coffee, bit of smoke, lots of roast malt. Taste is lovely, all the elements of a good stout and then the blueberries at the front, fade in the middle and then reappear at the end. Lots of chocolate bitterness and maltiness. Bit of vanilla creaminess in the background too. Nice and thick, and very smooth. Really nice beer and glad I finally was able to try it.

Near to black, moderate beige head. Aroma: dark malts, roast, citrus hop, blueberry, nice esters. Medium body, soft carbonation. Taste: rather dry, roasted, fruity, coffee and hop at ending. Soft and balanced. Nice stuff.

Bottle pour into tulip glass from Redstone Liquors, Stoneham. Appearance is opaque black with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, fleeting 1/2-finger width light brown head. Aroma is rich roasted malt, blueberry. Taste is equally sweet and earthy bitter roasted malt, chocolate notes with blueberry floating in the background. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not complex by any means, a little light bodied and the blueberry could be a little stronger but good.
