The word “session" - in our context of brewing frolics - stems from the British and Irish term, "drinking session", which refers to the consuming of the maximum number of alcoholic units without losing one’s own judgement. We as beer brewers must therefore brew a beer with a lower alcohol content whilst, at the same time, not sacrifice on taste and aroma. Our solution is to make an IPA which adheres to all the usual artistic rules with one exception: using less malt. This reduces the alcohol content but still maintains the same bitterness and fruity aroma of a classic IPA.
