Bottle at RBSG 17 grand tasting.Normal pour for the style, nothing unusual here. Aroma is the requisite roast grains with hints of chocolate and vanilla, nad some boozy bourbon barrel notes. Taste follows with more RIS goodness. Silky smooth.

Bottle at RBSG. Dark brown pour with a small creamy tan head. Really nice aroma of mocha and vanilla, roasted malts and barrel. Lots of espresso and roasted malts in the taste with a moderate amount of sweetness from the barrel. The mouthfeel is a little light, but overall the flavors are there? a bit thicker of a body and this would be a 4.5+ rating for me.

Bottle. Apparently this is all hypey now. Certainly has enough wax to fill a hype train. Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is solid, bourbon, vanilla, coffee, cocoa. Flavor follows, medium sweet and light plus bitter. Nice blend of coffee, chocolate and bourbon. Medium plus body, lacking a bit of mouthfeel as compared to best in class but still a solid beer.

Winterfest 2015. Like the Cherry version, Iiked this much more than the standard double black. Same thick palate and roast. Lots of vanilla, and there is coffee too. The bourbon seems to balance well with these flavors.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of coffee with sweet dark grains, roasted malts and bourbon underlying. Flavor has a nice combination of sweet chocolate, dark grains and coffee with a slight Irish cream note underlying.

Bottle @ Mobile, thanks to Brad! Pours a black appearance with a brown head. Thick chocolate brownie, vanilla, brown sugar aroma. Medium body. Maybe a little thin. Tons of chocolate, cocoa, brownie, and light spice. Some light whiskey. Good beer.
