We traditionally brew gallons of Vietnamese Coffee with a phin-style filter that gently percolates water through ground coffee. The result is a chocolatey and bold-tasting coffee that perfectly compliments the notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon barrel in this massive barrel-aged stout, a true AleSmith legend.

Bottle thanks to Ibrew2or3: Poured an oil sludge black with a finger light brown head. Aroma is boozy, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla. Taste is like sex in the mouth...boozy, bourbon, silky dark milk chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, toffee, smooth finish.

355ml bottle. (2022 vintage). Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee, bourbon and oak. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and oak in a dry, mild bitter, bourbon warming finish. Medium to full body with a sticky, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. A world class Impy that was a pleasure to sip on.

Crowler from Harvest. Pours a pitch black with a full finger of brown head that lingers. Big espresso and coffee aromas with some tobacco notes as it warms. Bourbon is there on the nose as well as some cacao nib notes. More of the same on the palate...espresso, bourbon, oak and cacao nib. Warming bourbon finish with espresso all the way down. Glad I was finally able to try this whale. Very nice BA stout.
