Show a little spirit and try this smooth barleywine, which as been aged in an Ardbeg whiskey barrel.
Stonr, smooth barleywine, packed to the hilt with the flavours of malt and peat, this little beer is virtually a grenade for your mouth. A spiritual beer in all ways.

24th Jan 2015: shared (small) bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meeting. I love Barley Wines normally but this little guy did nothing for me I am sad to say. Deep amber pour, no head worthy of the name. Malty and smoky peat bog in the nose, no whiskey notes in the aroma or taste, so the aging doesnโt come through, or at least not for me. Just an alcoholic brew that disappointed. Maybe it was infected or something, but I struggled with the small amount I had.

Bottle at Cotteridge wine convention; hazy dark amber pour with a thin tan head, very smokey aroma, taste is very phenolic, glad it was a Danish pint, hard work.

Bottle share. Cotteridge Beano. Murky brown. Messy, grey head. Peaty, smoky, thick, and boozy. Hard work, really.
