We brewed this after feedback from US drinkers suggested the ABV of our original Old Engine Oil (6%) was too low for their tastes. So we created this intensely flavoured but incredibly smooth 9% brew especially for them.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Rich, roasty, dark malty and dark fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of blueberry, blackberry, hints of plum and cherry, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, some coffee and liquorice. Taste slightly dry, is roasty dark malty with some residual, chocolately malty sweetness, dark fruity hoppy and minimally alcoholic, notes of milk chocolate and dark chocolate, blueberry, blackberry, a touch of plum and cherry; full body, smooth and soft palate. Superbly balanced, rich and simultaneously rather easy drinkable

Opaque colour, good creamy brownish head and lace. Toasted malty aroma with dark chocolate. Quite dry, even dry hayish. Medium-bodied. Toasted malty, chocolaty, a bit lactic even. Milk stoutish. Interesting variation of the classic.

0,33 l bottle. Pours almost black with small brown head. Aroma is malty, coffee, chocolate, light dried fruit, quite but not annoyingly roasty and smokey, very light alcohol. Body is medium sweet, medium bitter. Body is full, texture oily, almost thick, carbonation light. Finish is quite long, starts malty and slowly goes to bitter dark chocolate with dark roasted coffee finish.

Black with dark creamy head. Aroma and flavour do indeed have some chocolatey notes. Furthermore itβs malty, rich and sweet. Smooth, oily texture.

Caught somewhere between an old ale and an imperial stout, Special Reserve offers up a huge swath of toffee and malt, yet couples it with a black-as-night roastiness, deep veins of bakers chocolate and coffee offsetting the sweetness. Candied black cherries round out the middle, and the finish has a pine-floral bitterness that meshes well with the lingering java notes. No trace of the 9% ABV. Deep chocolate-toffee aroma is almost visible, and the oily black pour seems both foreboding and decadent. Delicious.
