Our Winter Stout returns, injected with a hit of sour cherries. The aroma of black forest gateaux greets you as you start to drink. Chocolate and velvety on the palette with a teasingly tart finish from the cherries. Tangfastic!

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 21 Feb 2014) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of sour cherries. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, hints of tart fruit and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fairly straightforward and tasty stout, with balanced hints of sour cherries. Nice one.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Black. Chocolaty nose with a fruity touch. Mid dry with light-medium body and soft, firm mouthfeel. Chocolate, some licorice and faint notes of cherry. Mid bitter finish. Lovely malt character, but the cherry component is really toned down.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 02/01/14. Mid black with a good sized dirty tan head that dissipates but retains. Nose is light roast malt, dark berry fruit, cherry, chocolate notes. Taste comprises roast malt, tarte cherry skins, earthy cocoa, subtle lactic tang. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light roast and a tarte berry fruit tang in the closure. Decent stout - does what it says on the tin, plenty of flavour for 4.4%
