A Dortmunder is, as the name would suggest, a traditional German beer first brewed in Dortmund. It is a bottom-fermented beer. Compared to a pilsner, this type of beer usually has a higher alcohol content and less hops – but the part about having less hops didn’t totally work out at Brouwerij de Prael.

Bottle at home. Ridiculously huge foamy head. Aroma of citrus, fruity notes, malt, some caramel,. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and slightly tart with a light bitter finish. Somewhat sticky. Also a bit overcarbonated and unstable.

Vol, droog. Toch wel van genoten.
