Clear medium to dark amber color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, caramelized malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, sweet malt, caramelized malt, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. 2016 edition from draft @ De Zwarte Ruiter, next to the brewery (although I’ve been drinking this since about 1984, albeit not recently). Clear red-brown color. Dense off white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: caramel malts, drop/licorice, light red fruit. Retronasal it’s sweetish, drop/licorice, some fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted/gebrand, light drop. Medium bodied.Finishes roasty, moderate bitter. Quite enjoyable bock, but different from how I remember it to be.

Bottle at home thanks to opa Piet. Clear chestnut brown with thin offwhite head. Sweet roasted malts, grain, syrup, old leaves, chestnut. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium body, slick malty feel, average carbonation. Bittersweet syruppy finish. Earlier Rating: 12/21/2015 Total Score: 3Fles. Beetje rogge beetje zoet, smaakt naar suikervervangers. Bottled@PBF XI. Amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is toffee, some spices, herbs and mild sweet malts. Flavour is fruity, toffeeish, some mild toasted notes as well as some mild spices too.

Bottled. Very deep amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sweet malts, some alcohol and mild metal. Flavour is caramel malts and some mild notes of grass and spicyness. Quite watery feeling over it.

33cl bottle @PBF XI. Bbe Oktober 16. Poured dark brown color with a thin white head. Nutty, malty, bready aroma. Dark fruity, some almondy notes. Flavor has sweetness, caramel, toffee. Warming finish.

Flesje thuis gedronken.Donkerbruin helder bier met redelijk schuim. Aroma van karamel en mout. Smaak is zoet en fruitig bitter. Smaak ebt snel weg.

Pours a clear dark chestnut brown color, topped with a medium sized beige head. Very creamy and lasting. Mild malty nose with slight alcohol feel and a tad soy sauce. Develops a bit dry fruity quality later on with some roastiness and more pronounced caramel. Sweet and malty quite intense. Medium alcohol warm with slightly burning feel in the finish. Medium body. Not a bad one.

Roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig, licht zoet en rokerig met iets van vanille. Goede herfstbok die niet al te zoet overkomt.
