’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.

A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.

deep orange pour, with a huge eggsehll head that leaves some beautiful lacing all over the sides of my glass. Aroma is lots of hops, some nice citrus here, with some pine, and some thick honey. Flavour is hoppy, and malty at the same time. The mouthfeel is thick, and very enjoyable. Lots of nice tangy bitterness in the finish. WOw, what an excellent beer. I think this is quickly becomming one of my favorite styles.

Bottle at home. Aroma is hoppy, strong pale malt, bready, fruity, tropical and piny notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Robust medium body. Exemplary hoppy Strong Pilsener, this is how it’s done!

330ml bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Orangey amber gold colour, large white foamy head leaving lacing and aroma of orangey hop, caramel. Taste is malt, bready, earthy, with orange marmalade notes and boozy tangy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy metallic bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Keg at Craft. Amber/dark blond colour with white head. Aroma is hops, bit of fruit and malt. Taste is initially very bitter, almost like the 1000IBU, lots of biscuity malt, and quite grainy. Nice bitter finish. Much more bitter than I remember. Dangerously drinkable.

Bottle@Kulminator, Antwerp. Citrus and red berries in the aroma. Oily earthy hops in the flavor, with a fair deal of red berries and citrus present. Long hoppy aftertaste. Straightforward, well made and well balanced beer.

Bottled. Hazy darker amber body, lasting thick off white head. Full aroma-hop driven aroma, citric, peachy, sweetish, herbal undertones. Very little alcohol. Lean taste, perfumey aroma hops, peachy, sweetish touches, ending surprisingly bitter and dry.
