Bottle. Clear gold with a beautiful big white thick head. Aroma of earthy floral and spicy hops and grains with just a little hint of butter. Taste of grains, bread, straw and earthy and floral hops with a finish that’s slightly on the spicy side of things. Moderate grainy bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel. Very süffig. A decent Helles that almost leans into Pilsner territory.

As Bergbräu Hell. Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass with a small head. Moldy aroma. Starts mild, malty, moldy. Light sourish touch. Grasy-malty background. Finish could be a bit more balanced. Okay.

Grainy beginning. Easy to drink, soft with caramelly parts, fruity grainy, not much bitterness. Sessionable neutral.

Mild getreidiger Antrunk. Konstante Aromatik, geringe Herbe, kaum süß. Im Mittelteil trocken, leicht nussig, ansteigende Herbe. Spritzig, die Herbe steigt weiter, geringfügig bitter. Langer Abgang, bitter, Heu. 8/9/10/10/8/9

Surprise purchase in ALDI, Hurstville. 330ml swing-top bottle into shaker. Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow with high carbonation and dissipating fluffy white head. Nose has cardboard and a little grain. Smooth texture, nice body, easy-drinking to be sure. Finish is grainy and fruity. No world beater but pleasant enough. The brewery's website describes this beer (in German) as 'The beer Bavaria envies'. I don't think they do!

Bottle, Aldi. Gold with a fading white head. Aroma is floral with biscuit dough, faint spices. Moderate biscuity sweetness but a bit thinner than you'd hop for 5%. Considerably more bitter than expected with a weedy metallic bitey element at the dry end.
