Maple Syrup Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Chocolate Stout
CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Y’all.... im not even playing. I’m not cheering on global warming so this town becomes habitable ... to me. I don’t understand the other people that live here during the winter.

Definitely showing its age. Not much maple left, mild coffee roast, slight burnt notes, little autolysis

2/V/24 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: n/a, bottled: IX/24/18, 1254 6 (2024-265)
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy solid beige head, a bit irregular, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee, just the slightest hint of soy sauce, some more coffee, deep roast. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body, smooth creamy texture. Taste: pretty sweet start, chocolate, sugary, alcohol, more chocolate, hint of coffee, maple syrup, caramel, good roast, bitter touch, more chocolate still, a bit of vanilla. Aftertaste: quite some alcohol, sugary, chocolate, maple syrup. Man, what a lovely beer this is!

On tap at gr airport bar. Served in a plastic cup. Blackish opaque pour with a small beige head. The nose is dark fruits and spices. The taste is maple, berries, and vanilla. The palate is full and creamy. Finishes long and bittersweet. Overall: decent but a bit too fruity from what I remember in the past. I am not sure they poured me a cbs

Way more coffee forward than I recall. Was hoping for more barrel and maple.
Thoughts are with Tom Lockyer and his family after suffering cardiac arrest during the match vs Bournemouth.
