Bottle shared thanks to Ruuurd for the trade. Very dark mahogany with darker beige head. Raisins, soft roast, cardboard, dry malts, earthy, soft booze, toffee, figs, light tart red fruits, dead leaves 💀, dry roasted malts and fresh toast. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied, maybe a bit light feel for a 9% beer though. Overall quite OK.

Bottle from the brewery, BB May 2015, large sample. Dark cola brown color, short frothy lasting brown head. Aroma of raisin, molasses, slight roast, quite some spicy yeast, prune, toffee. Taste has quite some alcohol besides lots of sweetness, slight roasty bitterness. Soft carbonation, medium body. Powerful abt/quad and quite typical to the style. I almost forgot how well I can enjoy this style at times.

Tap @ brewpub. Very dark brown coloured, with a beige head. Nose is malty, toasted malts, molasses, dried fruits, bit of grain. Flavour is malty, molasses, dried fruits, candied sugar, syprupy, caramel, and again a bit of grain. Finish is sweet and slightly alcoholic. Decent enough.
