Hillegomse Hangkous is een typische Scottish Ale. Donker van kleur en heerlijk robuust van smaak, kruidig door gebruik van zoethout, kruidnagel en sinaasappelschil. Heerlijk voor de lange en koude winteravonden.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Roelzie, Koenzie, Mimi, Anne, Romy, Meindert en Tessa tijdens een Tasting met Mimi @Tom. Het is een licht troebel bruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van mout en caramel. De smaak is vol moutig, zacht zoet en fruitig.

Bottle 33cl. present from B&H thanks guys (!) @home poured into a thistle glass. Clear ruby brown colour, fair frothy beige head, diminishing slwly, thin creamy layer remains, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, coffee groundings, dark fruits, plums, raisins, liquorice, spicy notes. Taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, roasty, caramel, light dark fruits, candy sugar, liquorice, alcohol notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, rather short malty sweetbitter aftertaste, roasty and woody notes, alcohol, rich brew, a bit a messy feel, nevertheless very nice.

Brown with an off-white head. Dark caramel aroma with some orange and cloves. Sweet taste with a sweet finish, coupled with that, for me familiar, Klein Duimpje off-taste that most of their beers have. Really hard to describe but it's a harsh cooked cabbage off-flavor that isn't DMS. Quite off-putting and overpowering really.

Säuerlich kirschiger Geruch. Holziger Beginn, eher trocken, ohne die erwartete da gerochene Säure. Leicht fruchtige Noten von Kirschen, dumpf, leer wirkend. Wenig malzig, was meist im Hintergrund bleibt, erst spät voller, dennoch hinter den Erwartungen zurückbleibend. Eher langweilig. 9/8/8/7/8/8

Bottle (from hetbiermoment.nl). Pours dark ruby-copper with huge brownish beige head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet and slightly bitter, caramel, malt, dark fruits, plums. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, burnt sugar, malt, dark fruits, spices, licorice. Finish is burnt sugar bitter with some alcohol. Overall: feels a lot like good sweet boozy belgian strong ale.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled draft @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Dark amber, little tanned head. Nose is overly yeasty, pear, umami, herbal, syrup, mocha, licorice. Taste is herbal, dull sugar, pear, boozy, sugar, herbs. Medium bodied. Meh overall with too much yeast & herbal notes.
