Zwaar Bier is a top-fermenting beer with a spicy flavor due to the addition of wintery herbs, but it tastes good throughout the year.

33 cl. bottle @ my parents, shared with Niek. Red brown with an off-white head. bottle was a bit of a gusher. Liquorice aroma. Taste is all star anise which gives it a nice warming effect. Maybe a bit too spicy but decent enough.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. Unclear, amber body and a small, off-white to beige head. Spiced nose, a good dash of ginger. Raisins and a touch of licorice. Bubble gum hints. Sweet flavor with the same things found in the aroma. Medium to full body, a bit sticky, and pleasantly carbonated. Medium length finish with a pleasant blend of spices and sweetness. Would like a little bitterness too, else it’s nice. A pleasant winterbeer indeed. 110218
