[9/8/09] Bottle at Bier Circus in Brussels. Red-colored with a pinkish head. Aroma of fresh tasty raspberries and nice oakiness. Tart flavor of raspberries, light citric touches and oak. Medium-bodied. Quite clean and not too funky but still delicious.

Interesting salmon pink color. Looks almost like watermelon juice! Head does not budge—fine and thick, long-lasting. Creamy, funky raspberry aroma. Lactic, horse blanket, and citrus-sour with sweet fruit underlying. Very appealing. Less fruit in the mouth, though it is still there, but the sour lambic character comes through well. Decent biting sourness is goes well with the barely sweet raspberries. Really well done.

37.5cl bottle, ref ax 2010 on cork. from ølbutikken. cork comes off with a pop, but no beer spills out.beautiful clear red, thick fluffy light-pink head. aroma totally spot on fresh raspberries. incredibly fresh. after settlling for a few seconds starts to whiff marcipan , faint stable and some sourness. flavor is refreshingly fresh raspberries and other berries (a bit more citric than raspberries, as if fresh cranberries or something similar had been added), also some sourness and some citric fruitiness. very refreshing. i can’t really think of what should be done to improve this flavor.

Bottle that I picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium March 09 Pours the richest most glorious deep ruby red, good clarity and with a fluffy pink head that Barbie would just love for a foam party. The raspberry aroma’s fly off of this with some confectionery sweet raspberry notes as well which just take the edge off of it a touch. This is sweet, tart, sour, crisp, refreshing, actually this is just summer in a glass. I’m reminded of raspberry meringues and picking rapberries off of the canes down the garden, gorging myself when Loz’s back is turned as they are her favourite fruit and turning around and getting caught out with the odd stray pip and scarlet chin proving my undoing. This isn’t as sour as some but that maybe why I am attracted to it even more, for me this is just great and how I like a fruity lambic. great stuff! A8 A5 F9 P5 Ov17 4.4

Bottle, 37.5cl, corked. A golden, clear body is topped by a small off-white head. Raspberry candy in the initial aroma, then lemon, red berries, some barnyard and horseblanket and a little sweetness blends in. Really pleasant, but the aroma is a bit dull in comparison. It’s mostly on the sour side, leaving the raspberries in the background. Ok, so raspberries are quite sour, but I think there’s something missing. Maybe the barnyard isn’t obvious enough? Sour, astringent mouthfeel, and a lasting finish following the path of the initial flavor. It lacks a bit on complexity, at least flavor wise, but it’s a quite lovely one. (090327)
