Nose is caramel, burnt toffee. Taste, is toffee, raspberry leaf tea, lots of bread, some herbs. Leads through to a very bitter finish. The beer is a bit thin. A nice beer without being exceptional, it feels like two beers combined, the red ale notes, and then the hoppy notes following. I didn’t feel they worked in harmony well enough yet. I enjoyed it though.

Dark copper brown, thin white head, little lacing
Aroma - Fusty caramel malts, old apple skin, slightly perfumy, odd aroma
Taste of citrus hop, some roasted malts, touch of nuts, bit of grass, some apple core, caramel malt, touch floral, rather haphazard
Palate - Medium carb, light to medium body. Palate soft bitter sweet. Finish is fairly bitter, some twigs in there, touch of citrus hop and some roast in the finish, slight odd bitter flavour on the tail
Overall - The aroma was rather strange to be honest, came across as a rather uneven mish-mash. It’s drinkable yes, but wasn’t great - needs a fair amount of tweaking

Euston Tap. Clear dark red beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and airy with mildly prickly carbonation. The smooth malt has a hint of roast - wasn’t expecting it! Malt cream. Minerals. Mild red berry fruits which blend in well. Unobtrusive hops. Finishes smooth with the red berry fruits turning candy. Nice beer - unusual.

Keg at Euston Tap. It pours cloudy deep purple/brown with a thin beige rim. The nose is pink wafer, strawberry, light tartness, jam, tangy citrus and Dandelion & Burdock. The taste is wood, leather, dark berry, liquorice, toffee, funkiness, roasty/instant coffee, earth and Dandelion & Burdock with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting flavour and good depth of flavour. Great stuff.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Deep reddish amber, with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and barley sugar, with some yeasty red fruits. Full mouth feel, with flavours of chocolate orange, strawberry and slightly, bready malts, leading to a dryish finish. Very good.

33 cl bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted malty andcrisp hoppy, light citrusy and grapefruity. Lingering fruity and crisp hoppy. Smooth fruity and crisp bitter finish.
