Winner Speciality Beers LocALE Competition at York CAMRA Beer Festival 2013 Cloudy, hoppy weizen with Apollo, Bravo and Galena hops. This is a genuine German style Weizen with the hops of an American IPA. Light, refreshing and extemely fruity as the hops balance the banana and clove notes from the german yeast. This beer is naturally cloudy because it is unfined and thus suitable for vegans.

Re-Rate - bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Much nicer with pleasant saison esque yeast textures and a light refreshing dry finish. 330ml bottle from Jack’s Off license, Stroud Green. Got a not-too-pleasant vinegar aroma from the bottle with fresher banana wheat coming from the glass, pours a cloudy weizen colour with a bitterness that bolts straight out. Would’ve liked a bit more weizen wheat from this but comes across a little average. Still, nice artwork though.

Bottle picked up from ’Jacks’, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon 20th November 2013 consumed at home Thursday 28th November 2013 Pours wheaty straw gold coloured with white head. I am picking at Rocquefort cheese so the aroma is rather difficult to pick up. Fresh nose, taste is clean, it’s refreshing, it is lemony, wheaty, this is really nice. Jack told me this was a good beer, he doesn’t drink beer but he is right, it is bloody good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy light amber pour with foamy white head, clove and hop aroma, taste had the essence of a wheat cloves and banana with a hint of spice that’s backed up with some hoppy action, citrus and pine.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is resin hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a medium bodied weak bitter watery palate and a long bitter finish. The resin tends to dominate this beer. Re-rated 13 Jan 2013... Much better than the last time. Nice fresh pine needle hop aroma. Lovely fresh hoppy palate.

Very hazy pale gold beer with a tidy white head. Unpleasant sweaty feet nose! Palate is light and minerally crisp. Smooth pale malt. Bitter floral flavours. Lemon and tangerine pith and peel. Finishes pretty bitter and semi dry. Quite astringent but all right.

Bottle:Nose is banana with papaya and mango sorbet on top. Very refreshing and enticing. Taste leads with resin, and finishing with a banana flavour and then more resin, cloves and floral notes. A touch metalic Mouthfeel a little to carbonated for me. The nose is lovely but the taste is only ordinary.

Take 2 - Cask @ Cloisters110812
Taste was not over clovey, more lemon and the finish wasn’t as harsh - smoother more balanced palate

Cask @ Bow Bar 070812 7/2/7/3/14
Golden, light haze, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft floral hops, light fruits, soft pale malts
Taste - Peppery floral aromatic hops, touch of aniseed, some cloves, background of pale fruity malts, does get a bit over clovey after a while, but has a good flavour
Palate - very soft carb. medium body, smooth mouthfeel due to the wheat. Finish - bitter lingering palate with a background of aromatic soft cloves, bitter hoppy finish gets a bit harsh after a while (I had a pint)
Overall - It’s a good tasting quite unusual beer, just a bit over harsh in the finish
