Stone Imperial Russian Stout is so thick, rich and, well, sinful, you might worry that you'll be doomed to the fiery pits just for thinking about a sip. Rest assured, however, that even though this seemingly pernicious brew is indeed as black as sin, we guarantee that no actual sin was committed in making it...you'll have to add that on your own. This massive and intensely aromatic beer abounds with notes of chocolate, coffee, black currants, anise and roastiness, and its heavy palate is nothing to be trifled with.

We haven’t changed this recipe much from the original version that Stone President & co-founder Steve Wagner created in 2000. It’s a fantastic beer, and we love brewing it every year!

Fluffy tan head on a near black body. The nose is classic and balanced with coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and a hint of spice. This RIS is well balance featuring fresh tasting coffee and chocolate, roasted malt, and touches of crème brule, nutmeg, cinnamon and cream. A touch of licorice and a slight bitter edge created by the strength of the coffee and the roasty malt under taste add to the mix. Excellent Imperial Stout.

Inky black with a decent sized frothy tan head that persists. Earthy roasty chocolate licorice and caramel with bits of dark dried fruit to counter. I'm not sure why this is listed as a vintage, but its tasty and takes me back.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark, dark. I mean really dark. Smallish head. Chocolatey aroma with rich flavor. Shockingly, not super heavy, IMO, a very good Imperial Russian.

Opaque colour, firm brownish head. Coffeish, roasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Roasted, coffeish, hints of licorice in the flavour, some hops. Clean, old school imperial stout. Well-brewed.

8 Fl Oz pour in the Best Brews Taproom (Lake Havasu City). Drank along side a Tombstone Dry Irish Stout, which was OK, but this knocked socks off it, lovely rich feel to this heavy hitter, really enjoyed it.
