Our tribute to Venice, a saison in the Wallony tradition, with a medium foamy body and an herbal spiced taste supported by malts that reminds to serenity and uncontaminated lands."

Flaska från Beergium. An amber very cloudy saison with a small head. Lots of green herbs, fresh cut flowers, saison yeast and earthy notes. Not as crisp as my favorite saisons but with nice green earthy herbal spicy taste of fresh slithly bitter lettuce, green tomatoes, green pepper, flowers (think chewing on the green part of a tulip), yeast. A lingering sweetness and a small bitterness that keeps the balance ok. An earthy, herbal tasty sison that I really enjoyed.

33cl Bottle: obtained from Rudi at De Bierboom, Brugge: BBD Jul 17. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip on 3 Dec 13. The sediment joined the rest of the beer in my glass, so the orange body was murky, dull and hazy. The head a proud white blanket of uneven foam. The nose was a surprise, this ’traditional Saison’ had a malty aroma with semi-sweet fruit notes. The taste was also leaning towards maltiness and certainly away from farmyards or rural flavours. Nice enough, but not really a Saison as I know them, grainy in nature but this just seemed too smooth and not rough around the edges like typical beers of this style tend to portray.
