Traditionally, Imperial Stouts, the biggest and boldest of all stouts, were brewed with massive amounts of roasted malts and hops, resulting in a velvety smooth but robust beer characterized by high alcohol content and extremely high hop bitterness. Meeting the challenge of this aggressive, challenging beer style, Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish.

Gosh darn. Great stuff. Really great for a Sunday afternoon on the front porch. Picked up on a trip to Frisco and appreciated back home. Popped the top and shared with my daughter. Dark dark body of course, it is a stout. Slender head, not a big deal. Great scent, vanilla, chocolate, a whiff of coffee. Palate continues that, molasses, dark chocolate, raisin, dark fruit. Great Divide. Thanks.

355ml can from Elizabeth Station. Canned on 2016-11-23. Pours an almoat black with huge dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, slightly grassy, with roasted seeds and some chocolate notes. Taste is slightly sweet, roasted malt and hoppy bitterness, chocolate. Same aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle. Opaque black, dark brown foam. Aggressive aroma: brandy with cherries, prunes and raisins, hops, whiskey, dried fruit, port wine, coffee, chocolate, light smoke. Taste: prunes and cherries, coffee, whiskey, chocolate, very warming. Great!

Bottle (from beergium). Pours black with brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, vanilla, malt, roast. Flavor is sweet and bitter, dark chocolate, coffee, malt, vanilla, ashy. Finish is dry-roast and dark chocolate. Overall: great.

(Tap) clear, very dark brown colour with a small, brown head; aroma starts with candy, then chocolate liqeour, intense, rich flavour with a long, light bitter finish. It is like drinking a good bar of bitter chocolate in beer form.

BB 15.09.2016. black color, small dark coffee-colored head. smells bitter chocolate, roasty, lightly earthy, some coffee, light vanilla, light sherry, some wood, very lovely smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of charcoal, roasty, bitter chocolate, coffee, spices, some noticeable hops, light glueish, noticeable alcohol, licorice. finishes lightly roasty and dry with notes of bitter chocolate, earthy notes and coffee. overall good stuff, a bit on the alcoholic side, but overall nicely drinkable.

Musta, öljyisen paksu olut runsaalla tummanruskealla ja pitsiä jättävällä vaahdolla. Tuoksu makean ja paahteisen maltainen ja karamellinen. Myös maku alussa makean maltainen ja karamellinen sekä paahteisen kahvinen. Sen jälkeen mukaan kuvaan astuu katkerampaa havuista humalointia runsaalla otteella. Täyteläinen suutuntuma. Suupielet sokeriseksi saava olut, jossa havuinen humalointi tasapainottaa kivasti karamellisen makeaa otetta.

Bottle at home. Pitch black with medium sized creamy brown head. Thick roasted notes, coffee, dry cocoa, marzipan, quite some fruity hops with melon, lime and peach. Some creamy toffee too. Over medium sweet and bitter. Full bodied with thick creamy feel. Pretty good hoppy RIS.
