Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore... Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Bottle shared at home. Pours deep ruby with no head. Nose is sweet fruity, grainy and auite boozy. Taste follows the nose, closing with warm, sweet boozy finish. It has medium body, soft carbo, and is easy to drink. Pleasant brew.

offwhite brownish head fades quickly. Very darl cloudy brown color. Aroma is very similar to the regular aventinus, nice banana, cloves, and maltiness, mixed in there for good measure, there is also some deep fruit aromas. Flavour is complex. A good amount of the estery banana, but lots of ripe fruits, figs, and dried plums. Very smooth beer, the alcohol doesn’t seem to be present, and is hidden very well, but the alcohol does appear in a very nice warming of the throat in the finish. Superb beer, a great winter warmer/sipper.

Потрясающее пиво с глубоким вкусом. Пиво весьма красиво выглядит, темное нефильтрованное с белой пенной. Аромат алкогольный,четко чувствуется черносливом. Вкус открывается резкой кислинкой и крепостью напитка. И быстро перетекает в мягкое фруктовое послевкусие. Всем советую попробовать, возможно лучшее пиво от пивоварни Шнайдер.

330ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small off white head. Aromas & tastes of plums, raisins, cherry, caramel, banana bread, spice, molasses, alcohol & sweet malt. Medium body. Smooth finish. Very enjoyable

330ml bottle. Dark Ruby red with small beige head, circular retention. Aroma of raisins, dark malts, creamed wheat, booze. Full bodied, malty and stone fruits, bitter and boozy. Oh yes this warms you up!

Bottle at Winterbierfestival. Gouda: Dark brown coloured brew with an taste of almonds, liquorice, dark fruits and hints of banana. There is a sticky aftertaste and a warming mouthfeel due the high alcohol.

Tomada la noche de fin de año de 2022. Botella de 2015, conservada durante 7 años en bodega.
Aroma muy marcado de licor, acompañan notas a frutas deshidratadas, pasas y plátano maduro. En boca cuerpo completo, baja carbonatación y textura oleosa. Compleja, predominan los sabores dulces (plátano maduro, uvas pasas) con las notas licorosas (recuerda al licor de almendra, anís) con un punto amargo. Azúcar caramelizado. Compleja y potente, el alcohol está presente pero sin opacar el resto de sabores.
Me gustaría probarla con menos años, quizás haya ligera oxidación en el retrogusto.
