Pours murky brown with a rapidly fading head.Nose shows a little bit of earthy peat, loads of golden syrup, brown sugar and alcohol. Some spicy hops become apparent later.Flavours are more focussed on nutty malt and spices. Unfortunately the malt is a little cardboard-y.Body is somewhat watery.

Bottle, 12C. Dark copper with a small beige head. Aroma has slightly singed toffee, raisins, grass and a little lemon rind. Taste is moderately sweet with good malt complexity - there’s a little roasted/ burnt flavour, dried fruit and some chocolate. A little spice at the end. There’s a bit of old ale (of the Rev. James type) about this. Another Red Duck beer that’s subtle and slightly anachronistic.
