peppery, slightly tart, funky nose. Light hoppy mouth with lots of lemon and peppery. Clean and refreshing. Dry hoppy finish. Very nice.

Bottle at the Stillwater at Dig Bar. These saisons should really hit the spot this summer. This pours a crystal clear gold with a nice head of foam. Probably clearer than either the Classique or Why Can’t IBU. It has more of a fruity Belgian blonde aroma while the taste is fruity, zesty with tons of spicy estery goodness. Really nice, my favorite of the night. He truly has a saison to suit every taste.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/4/2013. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy bright gold color with a 3 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, pear, apple, black pepper, clove, straw, grass, herbal, floral, light bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast ester, hops, and light-moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, pear, apple, black pepper, clove, straw, grass, herbal, floral, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, pear, apple, black pepper, clove, straw, grass, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of fruity/spicy yeast ester, hops, and moderate malt flavors; with a great yeast/hop flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent saison! All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, hops, and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Blonde, hazy thin head. Yeasty, fruity (apple, apricot). Complex and dry, spicy, clean pale malt with a touch of biscuity notes, really good saison, balanced, authentic.

The appearance was a hazy yet clear yellow/golden body with some noticeable carbonation seen rising, two finger white foamy head rises and then falls leaving some nice foamy clingy lacing gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell was a sour yet funky but also muted musty maltiness combined with some citrus, light hops.
The taste was a spicy yet sour yet funky through the esters, clove, and hops, sweet yeasty aftertaste, sticky finish.
On the palate, it sat at/about a light, mostly sessionable, carbonation is spot on.
Overall, what another nicely done saison that I would gladly have again if I could.

Deep golden yellow body has a small but fairly well-retained white head. Clarity is medium high to high.
Restrained alpha hoppiness in the nose has only moderate citrus character and allows the saison yeast to shine pretty well, adding plentiful yellow fruit-like esters that mix with the hops to produce the pretty standard tropical fruit nose we’ve all come to know and love from this style. Fresh, floral and clean with snappy phenols keeping things quite dry and malt adding only a light honey-vanilla suggestion.
Very fluffy in the mouth with tons of carbonation giving a very airy palate. The malt, though nicely attenuated, does do its best to add a supple body/texture. Hop flavors swim about on the tongue ranging from lemon and orange rind to some grassy/herbal bitterness. Ends crisp, somewhat bitter and with no flaws or alcohol. Really nice, easy drinking, clean, not over-hopped Belgian here.

Bottle: Inadvertently sat in the cellar for about a year, but no issues. Pours a deep straw color with a modest white head. Spotty lacing. Nose is dry and floral, light lemongrass and grains. Sweeter than expected, a sturdy malt base and hints of green apple. Lighter in the florals and farmyard feel. Typical yeast flavor to style. Drinks fine, no issues with the time spent in the basement. Cool artwork on the label.

Bottle. Cloudy, sediment-laden straw-yellow-orange body, thin-medium dense off-white head. Nose with yeast and bread but the emphasis is on peach and pineapple juice, sweet and musty, and some clove. Estery, spicy body with clove and mixed fruits. OK.

Aroma is fairly fruity with overripe fruit including, pear and red apple. Light banana and tropical fruit. Moderate phenolic spice, pepper, coriander and lemongrass. Light citrus notes. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a bit of copper color. Thin white head that recedes but returns due to carbonation. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor has a light maltiness with some grain and toasted bread. Moderate tropical fruit notes along with pear and red apple. Light citrus. Moderate phenolic notes as well with pepper and coriander. Moderate bitterness but not much hop flavor. Just a hint of sweetness in the finish. Slight mineral character and light herbal note. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall an alright beer, but I am not a huge fan of the phenolic and ester profile of this beer. The make is also old and stake flavored which isn’t helping this beer.
