Das klassische Gaffel Kölsch ist eine besonders frische Kölner Bierspezialität, die nach bewährtem Familienrezept und dem Deutschen Reinheitsgebot von 1516 mit Wasser, Malz und Hopfenextrakt gebraut wird. Der feinherbe, angenehme, leicht hopfenbetonte Geschmack ist charakteristisch für dieses Traditionsprodukt und unterscheidet Gaffel Kölsch deutlich von allen anderen Kölschmarken.

En vaso Kolsch, color dorado claro, limpia, brillante y cristalina, espuma blanca de muy buena retención y abundante residuo. En nariz muy liviano aroma a malta y cereal. En boca es ligera, algo dulce, con un matiz cítrico que recuerda al limón, tan suave como agradable, notas de cereal y heno, final contenidamente amargo. Muy ligera a la par que agradable, buena opción para un aperitivo.

Blik in Duitsland gekocht, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van mout en gist. De smaak is moutig, zacht zoet, gistachtig en fris zuur in de afdronk.

Hell golden und klar im Glas. Florale Noten in der Nase. Was sich beim Geruch andeutet bestätigt sich beim Trinken: Für ein Kölsch relativ hopfig. Getreide- und leichte Fruchtnoten (Apfel, Birne, Quitte) reihen sich deutlich dahinter ein. Das für ein obergäriges Bier typische Geschmackspotpourri aus Frucht, Gewürzen und einer leichten Süße ist nur in Nuancen vorhanden. Die Unterschiede zu einem untergärigen Bayerischen Hellen fallen marginal aus. Das ist bei Leibe kein schlechtes Bier und ist wirklich schmackhaft und süffig - nur eben nicht ganz das was ich von einem Kölsch erwarte. Das Bier hat aber sicher seine Sparte gefunden. Ideal für Leute die geschmacklich stark zu Hellem, Export oder Pils tentieren, deren Lokalpatriotismus aber nur Kölsch als das einzig wahre Bier zulässt.

# 3766; 8/2023. Grainy, floral and slightly malty aroma. Brilliant gold body; white head. Malty, grainy, floral, light apricot; dry and sof finish. Very good kölsch. 0,33 l, bottle, supermarket, Tübingen (Swabia, Germany).

Draught, taster @MBCC 2023, Copenhagen (Denmark). 06/05/2023. [#6.422 Global - #472 Germany - #8 Privatbrauerei Gaffel Becker & Co.] Pours dark golden with a lacing white head. Aroma: grainy and bready malts, mild herbal hops. Taste: spiced malts, bread and yeast. Mild hoppy mouthfeel. Next one please!

I have a 16 oz can to sample on an early summer, very hot late afternoon. Bought at the local craft beer shop, I am prepared for the pour with a tulip glass from Great Heights. The appearance is a perfectly clear, sparkling, gold body finished with a solidly white head that looks to last awhile. The scent is citrus and grain, no surprises this time. The drink is traditional but better than average I believe. A lemony citrus start along with cereal, biscuit and a hint of apricot sweetness. Tasty enough and better the colder you keep it imho.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 5B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch LB014 (BB 05.09.2023). AROMA: medium-low griny-sweet malt aroma with low herbal hop notes. initial medium-low metallic note that vanishes. APPEARANCE: light gold color and cristal clear. medium-low white head with average retention. TASTE: medium soft malt with a neutral sweetness. faint herbal hop note. medium bitterness with a dry and crisp finish. well attenuated. MOUTHFEEL: medium-light body with medium carbonation. smooth. OVERALL: a really nice Kolsch, not that much complex but the expected from a bottled example.
