Drink legendary. This distinct ruby beer’s sweet caramel and fruity aromas tease the taste buds. Brewed with smooth and rich Chocolate and Crystal malts & a blend of Fuggles and Styrian Golding hops. Expect a delicious full-bodied toffee flavour and a fruity finish of figs, raisins and dates.

aroma of english hops, sweet malt, slight caramel, and faint dried fruit. flavour is much of the same, with a nice bitterness in the finish, and the malt really comes out. this is a decent bitter, nice and enjoyable.

Dark copper/brown with a cream-coloured head. Aroma of malts. Flavour is caramel, raisins, slight chocolate. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Okay brew.

Bottle as Hobgoblin Ruby. It pours clear ruby with a bubbly white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, dried and dark fruits, raisin, sultana, cranberry, raspberry and candy cane. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, earthy, wood, leather, nutty, toffee, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, glace cherry, spice, malt loaf and old leather sofa with a very drying, leathery finish. Average body and fine carbonation. Pretty toothy stuff. Robust. Pretty ok.

500 ml can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear dark amber-ruby color with a thick beige head and excellent retention. Good lacing. Caramel malt and light hops aroma. Caramel malt and light bitter flavors too. Standard pub beer flavor profile. Good example of the style. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Low bitterness.

Malty, slight metallic, slightly sweet, getting a few off flavours from this, not for me.
