Sample at GBBF Winter. Brass colored pour, more animal head. Aroma is wheat, sweet, woody. Taste is subtle, grainy, malty, oily feel. Heather adds minor herbal notes. Enjoyable

I've been looking for this (or any heather ale) for years! Surprise find at a great grocery store. The heather/ sweet gale gives it a sweet floral taste. The ginger and bog myrtle were barely distinguishable. Apparently the style is 4,000 years old.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden with tiny white head. Pleasant subtle aroma with hints of peat. Light body with bright carbonation. Great taste with several pleasant flavours including ginger and peat over a light caramel malt. Very pleasant.
