The Extra Blond is of the “strong blond” type. Beautiful in its style, but of course with a recognizable D&L twist and signature. Very tasty, well hopped and not sweet. Floral, spicy and fruity notes from the hops give it a distinct character. With its 8.5%, a true tasting beer to enjoy at any time of the year.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour with a huge white head. Aroma is yeast, some fruits, mild metallic notes as well as some slight gluelike sweetness. Flavour is fruity, nectary, floral, mildly alcoholic along with yeast and some mild earthy, toffeeish and spiciness to it. Still rather crisp maltiness to it.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 27/05/16, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Clear golden color, big rocky white head. Aroma is very estery, spicy, flowery, bit grassy, quite malty as well, perfumy, cardamom? Slight sweet, bit dry, bit spicy, bit bitter. Quite balanced strong blonde. Not too sticky or too malty, but seems to get it quite right. Yeast esters give most of the character together with the hop. Decent stuff.

Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Sweet malts, big spices with lots of white pepper, pine, soapy, also strong yeast with typical Belgian aroma. Light lemon. Very nice mouthfeel, medium bodied with great light prickly carbonation. Very good blond.

330ml bottle bought on recommendation at De Bierkoning. Huge, creamy white head with fine retention and lacing. Yellow-gold coloured body, close to clear in appearance. Inviting semi-sweet fruity hops on the nose, notes of earthy malts beneath. Super fresh fruity flavours balanced with mild caramel and honey sweetness. Lingering mid-dry fruity hops to the finish. Well bodied. Masked alcohol. Lovely (cabin, Serenade 1, Rhine 22.07.2014).

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear light amber with a big frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeast, light hop and a little citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter/sweet with a big, but smooth, yeast, malt hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Really liked this. A fine summer beer.
