XX-bitter is our most bitter, high-fermenting beer. Despite its low alcohol content, it produces a very rich, long lasting, full flavour.

Taste: Very bitter but still balanced. Long-lasting, distinct hop taste.

Amber with a foamy white head that turns thin and creamy. Aroma is a mix of citrus, spices and grass. Taste is bitter the whole way through with a mix of pepper and clove underneath. Nice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Good, although not necessarily in large servings.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a hazy golden/amber colour with a medium to large sized off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of citrus fruits peaches, bananas, cloves, peppery spice and hints of floral and pine. Taste is the same again with an added orange and lemon zesty bitterness. Medium bodied, fair carbonation and a long fruity, grassy and zesty bitter hop finish. Really good.

Bottle. Pours dark blond to golden., semi-hazy. Head white, rather unstable. Very dry and fairly bitter taste. Hay and grain, but I missed some 'fraicheur', though. Finishes long and bitter.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels on 10th January 2020. Hazy amber with shallow foam and full lacing. Strong malt characteristic in aroma. Spicy and bitter in-mouth with powerful maltiness, which then dominates the finish. Some sweet berries. Full bodied with an engaging texture.

Pours slightly darker than golden, perfectly transparent with visible carbonation. Quite big frothy white head, shows good retention and lacing. Average intensity in the aroma. Light grainy base, fruity notes (citrus and peach, a bit on the jammy side), fresh grass and a hint of spiciness. Taste follows the aroma closely, with medium sweetness and medium to high bitterness. Balanced in the mouth, with a semi-dry, moderately bitter finish that leaves a bit of resinous feel. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation, lively on the mouth but easy to drink.
