The original Christmas ale, Gordon Xmas started the tradition of Christmas brews. To accompany Christmas dinners and New Year evenings, it dons its party clothes, while its marrowy foam melts in the mouth as the white flakes on a red background tickle the nose. Never forget to put it under the Christmas tree!

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy chestnut brown with a reddish hue with a large foamy off white head. Faint aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel and toasty brown bread. Taste has lots of dark fruits, berries, plums, caramel, fruit cake, brown bread, some brown sugar and also some roasted malts on the finish. Very nice balance between fruity, roasty and sweet. Medium to full body with low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Excellent beer and very Christmasy.

0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', best before September 2021. Clear, dark ruby with a large, foamy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of plums, cherry and some caramel. Gently sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of plums, cherry, caramel and burnt sugar, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Ale, nicely fruity, only that it can't disguise it's industrial heritage.

Clear red beer, thick white head. Smells of malt, toffee and fruit. Taste has toasty malt, bitter hops, the sweet, tangy fruit again and caramel. Nice, hearty beer with fairly simple flavours but lots of it. Very tasty.

Smell-malt and ginger, roast. Foam- thin, bittersweet, gingerbread notes, caramel and acidic tones. Bit of non-alco feel for some reason. Medium to large head, creamy brown white color Appearance- nice cloudy bottle cap, red with white, bottle design is festive, simple and as I still have my festive feeling all things considered it will be rating of 4. I like when some effort is put into design. Quite dark red, brown color, mostly red it seems, high carbonation. From - Snifter Taste- medium strong bitter-sweetness, caramel, ginger, yeast and bit of that non alco feel, but in this case I do not mind. Quite sweet, with bunch of malt and some bitterness. Aftertaste is malt and bitterness. Interesting combination, I am not sure if I am fan of that, but it is enjoyable and I dont mind this combination of flavors. So all things considered a fine brew, but bit weird.

Takie,,, dziwne.
