On tap at Nook bar, this cute vinyl place down the road from Sideward. Dark, nearly black pils glass. Oatmeal head, strong floral candle in face @ the bar. Blew that sucker out. Brutal coffee ash in my nose. Acidic coffee, ashy, brutally bittersharp char, tart & fruit middle, milky sweet middle, high acid, minerally grounds. Ended up being dense, sharp & delicious.

Enjoyed on tap at Jug & Bottle in Tampa FL before seeing a house. Very good porter, rich chocolate, not too sweet, nice espresso profile, would gladly have again.

On tap at Reel Fish Coastal Kitchen in Orlando. Opaque black pour. Small tan head. Roasted malt nose hints at espresso. Flavor follows suit. Dark malts, espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Some treacle and licorice on backend.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/12/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of nutty medium roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, molasses, licorice, and dark fruit; with lighter notes of smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big nutty medium roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/spicy hop and roasted/coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, light dark fruit/smoke, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a delicious English coffee porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Nicely rich malts and well balanced fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with light fruity English yeast notes and earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Draft sample @ Motorworks.
