This is the OG (original gangstah) of our Black Damnation series and the one that started it all. This beer is a blend of Struise Black Albert and De Molen Hel & Verdoemenis imperial stouts. Both beers on the very edge of darkness, of which the brewers' minds both sit on the verge of insanity.

Black Damnation is black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and boasts massive taste. This brew is the perfect marriage of the sweet, unxious flavors from Black Albert and the bitter charcoal and coffee profile from the Hel & Verdoemenis. Good luck finding some, the last batch was made in 2010!

50% of Black Albert was used with another 50% of H&V. Black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. Aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate. Flavours of H&V are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder. Good coffee chocolate finish with good balancing bitterness and hops & sugar in the after taste. 2009 vintage 12% abv 2010 vintage 13% abv.

Jet black viscous pour. Aroma of espresso, leather, olives, burnt malt. Flavour is rich, and strong. Loads of burnt malt, touches of bitter cocoa nibs, and an interesting sour/lactic finish. A big beer, but a nice sipper.

Bb 03/2014. One of those that I'd never expect to find. A bit old, vinegar in the smell but hardly in the taste. Tastes a bit smoky, lots of sweet chocolate, coffee, and a tiny bit coffee. Getting dusty, though.

Bottle shared in Hackney - thanks to Kenny. Gusher! Pours clear, deep brown with a fading, tan head. The nose has some burnt toast, old berries, leather, earth and wood. Medium sweet flavour with a little funk, ripe berries, earth, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. More leathery berries in the finish, some funky wood. Novel.

0.33 l bottle, best before March 2014 (must be about eight years old now), 13% abv, courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Pitch black with a large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a bit fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and some oak. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty and slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, mocca, hazelnut, vanilla, praline and some oak, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry, minimally tart finish. Medium to full body, creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Didn't expect to see the beer streaming out of the bottle, then feared it was infected, and it provided some tartish, fruity notes indeed. Still turned out to be a fantastic dessert stout, even if with a unique character and an increased drinkability.
