3 Fonteinen “Intens Rood” (Intense Red) is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on lambic for at least six months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic, and is then blended again with more lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 450 grams of fruit per liter. The kriek lambic ferments in the bottle for at least another six months and develops into an intense wine-like fruit lambic. This bottle fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurised lambic is all-natural with no artificial juices, syrups, or sugars added. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley!

0.375l cork top bottle. Aroma is funky vinous, musty, cherry-like, leathery and woody with mild vanilla note. Pours cloudy bloody brownish red color with totally diminishing off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with refreshing tart cherries and tannins, following is woody, yeasty and vinous with smooth mouthfeel. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Taste reminds me of pomegranate and tomato juice. Pure health :)

12.7 oz corked and caged bottle. Aroma is cherries, funky, woody, jammy, garbage (not as bad as it sounds). Pours clear ruby red with an immediately collapsing head. Taste is highly sour (10/10) and acidic with flavors of cherries, lemony acidity, wood and funk. Not as good as regular Oude Kriek.

2012 bottle opened in 2025. Deep brown-red body. A little dried out but still has some nice cherry tone. Deep cherry depth. Gluh-Wine notes. Truly is intense, gets more enjoyable each sip. Unique, will certainly want to try a fresh version.

375mL bottle at Lambik-O-Droom. Pours murky red with a pink head. Tons of red cherries, mildewy blankets, some cinnamon. Flavour has very intense cherry character, some cinnamon, not very tart, good blankety funk. Very good

Bottle at Foeders, No.77, blending season 19 - 20. Reddish pour, thin head. Nose is intense cherries, citruses, funk, leather and then some more cherry. Taste is intensely sour, jammy, very fruity, somewhat funky, loaded with cherries for real. Lovely.

(re)sampled in 2025, had this a few times when fresh, but none in the last year (or even decade) . Red color impregnated about 2 mm of the cork. Pours beautifully dark red, somewhat purple, nearly no head. Scent is intense cherry, indeed. Even after all this time, this is a cherry punch in the face. Taste is medium acidic, intense cherry (candied). Very dry. Mild oaky, harsh dryness. More of a 'candied' aspect now, but still very, very , very cherry focussed.
