Bottle received in trade. Thank you Athreya! Clear deep dark red pour that leaves some beautiful legs on the glass with a swirl. Nose is intense with fruity floral honey, blackberries, dark vinous grapes, caramel, leather, bees wax, wood and alcohol. Taste is sweet, tiny sour, fruity, floral and slightly boozy. Mouthfeel is round, viscous, oily, slightly tart, tiny astringent, slightly boozy and near full bodied. Finish is nicely balanced between thick layered honey, tart blackberries/grapes and woody tannins. Beautiful mead! Sweet and strong but in no way cloying or boozy. Lovely balance between all components and just like Kuhnhenn tend to be it’s just so damn flavourful without ever becoming vulgar.

Palais est mielleux, douceur mélangée à une certaine note aigrelette de mûres, Le tout conserve des notes rappelant un vin léger.
