Maar dan houdt de vergelijking met elke andere bestaande bock op. Zo is er in het brouwsel geen pilsmout gebruikt. Er is gekozen voor 5 verschillende gekleurde mouten, pale ale, munich, amber, meladonin en special B. De gebruikte hopsoorten, Nelson Sauvin en Saaz, zijn als combinatie zeker niet alledaags, waarbij er ook nog eens met Saaz is gedryhopt. Maar het meest opvallende is misschien nog wel de gistkeuze. Het is een bock met hoge gisting, vergist met Weihenstephaner gist. Deze gist zorgt er voor dat het bier een zekere frisheid kent en dat er naast zoet en bitter ook een beetje zuur in de hoofdsmaak zit. En dat is uiterst verrassend. De nasmaak vloeit over in een feest van complexe smaken die lang blijven hangen.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and light caramelish. Sweet, overripe fruity and caramelish. Bitter. Light phenolic. Smooth fruity and light toasted malty into the finish.

Bottled. A hazy dark red beer with tan head. The aroma has notes of spices, malt, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, malt, caramel, and yeast, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle shared at Deanso’s bad music tasting. Pours clear amber brown with a tan head. Aroma of yeast, light citrus, fruits, licorice and spice. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at Dean’s sticky floor tasting. Clear red color with a small beige head that diminishes almost instantly but leaves a nice lacing. Smell and taste malts, lightly raisins, dry, slightly paint and sweetness. Low to medium body and carbonation.

Bottle at a Ratebeer "sticky floor" tasting, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. The aroma rich malty with fruity notes. The flavour is medium bitter and malt with some liquorice on the palate and a yeasty aftertaste.

Reddish brown colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel, somewhat sweet, light hops, toast, roasted malts and light biscuit. Sweet malty flavour, fruity, caramel, light bitter, roasted malts and hop. Medium body, light bitter, roasty finish.
Another nice beer by De Proefbrouwerij.

On tap at Pint Bokbierfestival ’12. Dark reddish brown colour, caramel head. Aroma is very sweet at first, cotton candy, later burnt caramel, citrus, nice hoppy, roasted malts. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, roasted malts, light coffee, burnt caramel, light fruity bitterness with a nice hoppy kick. Medium bodied. Nice and powerful bock.
