HINANO, “ The Tahitian Beer”

First brewed in 1955, HINANO has held a special place in the heart of Polynesians.

The “vahine” (which means “woman” in Tahitian) has evolved to become a strong Tahitian symbol and is now part of Polynesian heritage. Always seeking new challenges, Hinano has achieved international recognition and has enticed new consumers who like to enjoy quality beer from the island of Tahiti.

Hinano is a light, golden color beer with 5% alcohol content, it can be found in returnable or lost glass bottles of 33cl and 50cl, in 33cl and 50cl cans and in 20L kegs for draft beer in the CHR sector - Coffee Shop Hotel Restaurant.

The abuse of alcohol can harm your health, drink responsibly.

The standard lager from Tahiti, with loose but lacing, lightly greyish white head and clear pale golden colour with somewhat greenish hue and vivid sparkling. Minerals and sourish grains in the nose (rice!), iron, grass, faint biscuit touch and a whiff of burning plastic. Neutral onset with sharpish, minerally carbonation, slightly oily but otherwise thin mouthfeel, sourish rice effect as in an Asian lager, clearly metallic ’sound’, grassy hop bitterishness in the finish, medium long and drying, but this may also have to do with a kind of chemical, plastic-like solvents effect, as in many ’macro lagers’. I can only see this function ice cold on a Tahiti beach, with the Polynesian ladies suggested on the label not too far away... Outside of this context: bland and boring lager as there are far too many in this world.

Pale yellow colour, moderate sized pillowy white head; aroma of grains and floral hops; taste of malty sweetness, some honey notes and something disturbing artificial metallic-sweet thing...

Gulbrun farge med tynt hvitt skum. Lukter malt og honning. Kjenner honningsødme også i smak. Lettdrikkelig med ganske mye kullsyre. En lager med en del aromaer og smak. Bra.

33 cl bottle @ lusikka, BBE 12.08.2015
Aroma has butter, grainy malt, some mint and hints of grass. Quite generic pale lager aroma. Flavour has grainy malt, cardboard, some grassy hops and mint. Your typical pale-lager-from-an-exotic-country.

Pours clear golden with a smooth head. Aroma of starch, hints of bready malts and crisp notes. Taste is watery, starchy and crisp with some hints of malts. Finish is watery and crisp. Quite bad.

Can from Carrefour, Nice. Pale gold with a very thin head. Uninspiring lager with a very light malt.

Clear golden colour, white frothy head, disappears quickly but fair lacing. Aroma malt, rice, grassy. Flavour medium sweet and slightly bitter, ditto finish; light body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

słodowy, karmelowy zapach, dość ciężki z lekką sugestią płynu do naczyń. kolor dość jasnego złota, piana przeciętna. w smaku mocno słodowe, lekko karmelowe i chlebowe, znowu pojawia się płyn do naczyń. dość wysoka jak na jasnego lagera goryczka.
