HINANO, “ The Tahitian Beer”
First brewed in 1955, HINANO has held a special place in the heart of Polynesians.
The “vahine” (which means “woman” in Tahitian) has evolved to become a strong Tahitian symbol and is now part of Polynesian heritage. Always seeking new challenges, Hinano has achieved international recognition and has enticed new consumers who like to enjoy quality beer from the island of Tahiti.
Hinano is a light, golden color beer with 5% alcohol content, it can be found in returnable or lost glass bottles of 33cl and 50cl, in 33cl and 50cl cans and in 20L kegs for draft beer in the CHR sector - Coffee Shop Hotel Restaurant.

"The beer is clear golden in colour with a tiny foam head. It tastes crisp with just the right amount of bitterness from the malt. Slight taste of citrus before it finishes off with a hint of sweetness."

330ml can into lager glass. Thanks to Bitterlady. Nose is sweet and grainy. Crystal clear pale yellow beer with thin film of bubbles on top. Medium carbonation. Flat mouthfeel, oily texture, sweet taste. Finish is lingering graininess with the odd hint of ’Juicyfruit’ and cooked vegetables. The grainy bitterness at the end is just keeping this from being awful.

From old tasting notes. Bright gold, highly carbonated and clear. Strong hop nose. Hoppy flavor throughout. Some grainy malt in middle. Light and fizzy. Probably tastes better if you are drinking in Tahiti.

Flaske delt med Steven, hos ham: klar korngul med kort skum. Aroma og smak av lys malt, litt tropiske frukter og et par kokte grønnsaker. Ville nok gjort nytten i de rette omgivelser.

As a gift: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is grainy and sugary. Taste is your typical euro lager. Hefty bit of sugar and malt. Drinkable. Good tick.

Shared by me at Maakun back from US tasting. Pale golden with thin white head. Very sweet malts and dusty cardboard. Over medium sweet, vegetal bitter note. Under medium body, average carbo. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hinano on 18 Dec 2017 at 15:53 - Score: 4. Original review text: 2 (French Polynesia country tick!)

Can shared thanks to sjogro. Clear golden with short lasting white head. Sweet sugary grains and corn, peach, dusty, light skunk. Medium sweet, very light bitter. Light bodied. Yuck.

Shared bottle. Pale golden with a white head. Aroma and taste of cereal and stale grass Mildly sweet and bitter finish. A pretty typical macro lager - guess I’m not a ’demanding connoisseur’.

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Thanks to ChrisO. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has mild fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, some paper. Traces of floralness and citrus. More paper. Light semi dry finish. About what you would expect, but I remember it tasting better in the stifling hear of Tahiti.
