On tap.Black body, light brown head. Aroma of black currant, pine and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma:caramel, black currant, coffee and citruses. Decent beer.

Bomber. Pours a cloudy dark black color, a small grey and beige head. A sweet nutty and fruity hop nose. The flavor is big dark fruit, large dank hops and chocolates, huge burnt toffee. Very sweet, some prunes. Pushing toward a Porter. Light smoke. Good. Huge decadent sweetness.

From a 650ml bottle on 19/10/2013. Pours a very dark amber with a small head. The aroma is fairly subtle with some dark malt and fruity hops presenting. In the mouth, the experience starts out sweet, with lots of caramel, brown sugar, and sweet citrus fruit, but the hops (which prominent and linger just a little) do hit you at the back, providing the requisite balance. the texture is quite creamy and the carbonation medium. This is one of the easiest drinking 9% beers you’ll ever try, and is relatively mild for something labelled as an imperial. Still, it’s very nice stuff.

Poured from a bottle and shared it is a dark reddish brown beer with a slight head. It has the aroma of citrus and tastes of chocolate and has a lingering flavor that remains bitter on the palate

From a 22 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Malty nose, redolent of licorice. Flavors of grassy hops and caramel malts. Medium to heavy bodied. Moderate carbonation. Moderately bitter finish.

Bomber bought some place unknown. Pours blackish dark brown with a small fizzy beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is malty and tiny floral with roasted malts, chocolate cake, dark roast coffee, alcohol, toasted cereal, burnt caramel, toffee, hay, charred wood and pine needles. Taste is very sweet, tiny bitter, malty, tiny herbal and tiny floral with roasted malts, licorice fudge, caramel, hay, soil, silage, oatmeal cookies, pine needles, overripe citrus fruits, low quality dark chocolate and hints of toffee, cereal and charred wood. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky sweet, slightly oily bitter, slightly boozy and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, caramel, licorice fudge, dark roast coffee, low quality dark chocolate, pine needles, moist grass, cereal and hints of wood and old bread. Nope, not for me. Possibly not too fresh but still this feels overrated by many.

Tap at belvidere on 02/03/2011. Dark black body with a small foamy tan head. Sweet roast, chocolate, and big floral/resiny hop aroma. Sweet roast and chocolate flavor some floral and resiny hops and a dry bitter finish. Big Top Beverage Mart, Roslyn variety case: Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is combination of citrus hops with sweet chocolate. Taste is a fair amount of citrus hops. Roasted malts are pretty light. Not too much chocolate, but there is some. Not that great, but good and well-balanced.

Pours pitch black color with a small head. Aroma of fruits, hops, caramel, dark roasted malts and grass. Flavor of roasted malts, caramel, fruits, hops and some resin.
