A smooth, refreshing golden ale that is full-bodied and has a distinctive hop flavour. Brewed using the best two-row Maris Otter pale malt interwoven with a complimentary selection of speciality malt for a robust taste. It is hopped with a combination of traditional English and modern American hops, to produce a beer with subtle fruit flavours and a crisp, lingering finish.

Backlog rating from 6/6/14. 500ml bottle at home after working in the yard, perhaps a new lawnmower beer? All I want is a nicely balanced, clean, refreshing blonde ale, slight hop resin notes for the bittering, clean biscuit grains, refreshing finish. That’s just what it is...hello new lawnmower beer!

Bottle shared at Porterhouse, Dublin. Poured a light golden colour, with a small white head. Aroma has some malt and hops evident but overall not very nice, rather watery, and too highly carbonated.

Bottle from O’Briens. Athlone [280514]
Golden amber, clear, white head dissipates to thin layer
Aroma of sweet honey malts, slight floral, some soft peach and apricot, light aroma
Taste of sweet honey caramel, dab of soft fruits including peach and apricot, not much hop in this, mainly sweet malts
Palate - very soft carb, fairly light body, little oily, palate is a bit oversweet, no hop bitterness. Finish as main flavour, sweet malts, some sweet butter biscuit, light fruits
Overall - Average golden ale, bit over sweet, flavour is simple and unengaging. Another one of these dull ’gateway’ beers.

Bottle at mum and dads, from Callans Dundalk, 18/01/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white covering that stays to party. Nose is orchard fruits, bready malt, light caramel, nutty, faint hoppage. Taste comprises bready malt, caramel notes, bitter fruits, earthy hop dusting, mandarin, light apricot. Medium bodied, soft carbonation - smooth and pleasant on the palate, lightly drying finish with a modicum of hops. Ok affair, drinkable, balanced but nothing I’d return to.

Draft @ O’ Neills, Dublin.

Golden-bronze. Kind of buttery aroma with stale fuggles and stuff like that. Similar taste, but with more caramel up front and more citrus at the back.
